This month’s donation is dedicated to an unbelievably resilient dog name Athena. I am constantly surprised at the levels of cruelty that animals have to endure in this world, but thankful that sometimes it is balanced by someone with a kind enough heart to step up and save a life. Athena was found in Baytown, TX in devastatingly horrendous conditions and agonizing pain with her front legs cut off and bleeding. But Athena was also fortunate enough to have been found by a group of kind-hearted humans that rescued her and rushed her to the ER and placed in the care of the amazing folks at ThisIsHouston. Athena’s road to recovery will be a long and difficult one with a vet bill upwards of $30,000. Our donation covered a few necessary supplies on her wishlist as well as a monetary donation to contribute to her vet bills and recovery.
