Ever since I was a little girl, born and raised in south Louisiana, I’ve had a deep connection and compassion for animals. So much so that I wanted to become a veterinarian when I grew up. My life took me onto a different path than becoming a vet but the compassion and desire to help animals stayed with me. My shop was established as a creative outlet for myself but also as a way for me to fulfill my lifelong goal of helping animals from all walks of life, all around the world. This is why I dedicate 10% of each purchase from my shop to animal causes in need. Along with the donations, another way I try to support animal welfare is by exclusively working with vegan materials; that means NO leather, suede, pearls, bone, horn, shell, silk, and other animal materials that may be detrimental to the welfare of an animal.
Over the years I’ve found and learned about different animal organizations that I feel are doing the right thing and utilizing their donated funds in the most beneficial and useful way for the animals. These are the organizations that I would love to donate the Emerald Sun Creations proceeds to. If you know of an animal cause that you feel would benefit from our donations, please feel free to message me on the Get In Touch page. I would love to hear your suggestions!
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Feel free to visit my Emerald Sun Creations shop and view our collection of beautifully handcrafted, animal-friendly, eco-friendly jewelry made from natural gemstones and vegan textiles.

Our Plastic Free Mission
When I started this company I was mainly focused on creating beautiful jewels and helping animals. But as I started getting orders and coming up with creative ways to package and ship our jewels safely, it quickly became evident that shipping in plastic bubble mailers would leave unwanted plastic in the landfills. So, I started to research online and found many great companies that were offering sustainable packaging. I thought it would be a great idea to share these companies with you so you know how your jewels are being packaged and how we're using eco-friendly materials to keep the planet plastic-free. Feel free to share these eco-friendly companies with your other favorite brands so we can all do our part in the ongoing efforts to support sustainability!
When you order one of our handmade accessories your order will be packaged using an assortment of packaging supplies presented below. If you're interested in sustainable packaging check out the links and let us know what you think! If you have any questions or suggestions, please reach out to us on our Get in Touch page and send us a message.

Fun Fact: I also use some of my art supplies in some of your packages! Mainly, I use watercolor paper from my painting days as earring and bracelet cards. So if you ever receive a pair of my earrings from us, keep the earring cards and create mini watercolor paintings with them!
So what's next in our sustainability efforts? I'm glad you asked! :D Now that we're using sustainable packaging, our next effort is to become carbon neutral! Companies like Google, Amazon and many others have announced their carbon neutral efforts and it made me wonder how my small business can also become carbon neutral. I'm researching and still working on finding a solution that is cost-effective for my small business to ship your packages around the world without leaving a carbon footprint. So stay tuned to get the latest on our journey towards becoming a carbon neutral company.
