Happy National Pet Adoption Day!

I'm back with another Donation Update, and with today's donation I want to focus on shelter animals. It's only right since today is National Pet Adoption Day. But before I get into that, I always like start off my journal entries with a big shout out to my wonderful customers for buying my jewelry and supporting my small business. A huge thank you goes out to you for your lovely support!

Today's donation is for a gorgeous Pit Bull Terrier named Melody with the sweetest little face! She going through some things as she's been described as highly depressed and anxious after being returned to a shelter. Here is Melody's story.

About Melody - “When Melody first arrived at the local shelter, she was bumped up on the priority list for fostering because she presented extremely anxious behavior surrounded by so much noise and many dogs. The shelter conditions seemed to exacerbate her emotional state and force her to isolate herself, so the staff was keen on getting her out of there as soon as possible. She seemed to be doing just fine in foster care, but then, out of nowhere, she was returned without a word. -- Our most needed items are food, blankets, and toys and treats, but anything you can give will help greatly in seeing this girl to her forever home, happily and healthily.” - Humans And Animals United

A monetary donation was made via Cuddly.com towards Melody’s care. We hope Melody finds a loving and caring forever home where she feels safe and loved! You can also help Melody by Donating via Cuddly.com. To learn more about the shelter that rescued Melody, visit Humans And Animals United.

Melody's story is unfortunately the story of a lot of shelter animals. Taken out of the shelter with the hopes of finally finding a forever home, only to be brought back to the shelter for unknown reasons. It must be truly heartbreaking for them to get their little hopes up only to be let down and returned back to a loud and crowed shelter. My hope, as you read about Melody's story, is to: 1.) Support your local shelter. Shelters are often strained on resources and can always use a helping hand and funds to help keep it running. 2.) If you're capable, foster an animal to help ease the strain on an over populated shelter. Also, take the time to educate yourself on how to best help the animal that is in your care. 3.) If you and your family are ready to adopt, also do your research on how to best care for an animal and know that in most cases, animals have spent years in a shelter and are desperate to find a forever home. Knowing if an animal is right for you and your family is really important. If you've been thinking about adopting an animal lately, take this as a sign and go out and find your very own furry companion!

Happy National Pet Adoption Day!

- Until next time. ♡
