Hi Gem Fam!

We're celebrating Plastic Free July by sharing all the ways we're shifting our company towards more sustainable and eco-friendly packaging. When I started this company I was mainly focused on creating beautiful jewels and helping animals. But as I started getting orders and coming up with creative ways to package and ship our jewels safely, it quickly became evident that shipping in plastic bubble mailers would leave unwanted plastic in the landfills. So, I started to research online and found many great companies that were offering sustainable packaging. I thought it would be a great idea to share these companies with you so you know how your jewels are being packaged and how we're using eco-friendly materials to keep the planet plastic-free. Feel free to share these eco-friendly companies with your other favorite brands so we can all do our part in the ongoing efforts to support sustainability!

When you order one of our handmade accessories your order will be packaged using an assortment of packaging supplies presented below. If you're interested in sustainable packaging check out the links and let us know what you think! If you have any questions or suggestions, please reach out to us on our Get in Touch page and send us a message.

Fun Fact: I also use some of my art supplies in some of your packages! Mainly, I use watercolor paper from my painting days as earring and bracelet cards. I cut, punch and stamp all the cards by hand for that added handmade touch. So if you ever receive a pair of my earrings, keep the earring cards and create mini watercolor paintings with them!

So what's next in our sustainability efforts? I'm glad you asked! :D Now that we're using sustainable packaging, our next effort is to become carbon neutral! Companies like Google, Amazon and many others have announced their carbon neutral efforts and it made me wonder how my small business can become carbon neutral as well. I'm researching and still working on finding a solution that is cost-effective for my small business to ship your packages around the world without leaving a carbon footprint. So stay tuned to get the latest on our journey towards becoming a carbon neutral company.
